To Educate Through Entertainment
|
_______________________________________________ For 2010 We are offering two separate opportunities to expose your children to the joys of Live Theatre! _______________________________________________
|
NORTHERN LIGHTS PLAYHOUSE CHILDREN’S THEATRE is an
excellent opportunity to educate and introduce the area youth to the arts
and live, professional theatre. Our company of professional actors will
delight your group with a special Children’s Theatre presentation. A
Creative Dramatics class is available following the show for prearranged
groups of 14 or more children. This is conducted by our staff of
professional actors. The cost is only an additional 75 cents per child.
What better way to entertain as well as educate? You can picnic on the
lawn around the theatre or we can arrange a hot dog lunch for you. So
bring the class for an educating, fun filled morning!

This adaptation of the Classic Brothers
Grimm fairy tale combines song, dance,
and comedy with the story of a young
Prince who has been turned into a frog by
an evil Witch, a young Princess whom no
one can understand because she, too, is
under a Witch’s spell, three singing frogs,
a pet snake who has a taste for frogs,
and more. The Frog Prince will delight and
entertain the kid inside us all!

“It all began so simply,” the boy remembers,
“Mom had gone to Aunt Rose’s house to bring her
a batch of Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies.”
And, she left some for him! Then the mouse
shows up, hungry - talkative - and not to be
ignored! The boy gives the mouse a cookie and it’s
all downhill from there! “The show takes you on a
journey of messy, side-splitting hilarity,” says
the Minneapolis Star Tribune!

“The arts must be at the heart of every child's learning experience if… they are to have a chance to dream and to create, to have beliefs, to carry a sense of cultural identity.” --James D Wolfensohn, former chairman of The Kennedy Center
